360 degree infrared panorama of the Minn’s Garden and Plant Science Building on the Cornell campus, Ithaca, NY. Taken in August, 2004. This panorama was created with a Fuji S2 digital camera and 10.5mm Nikkor fisheye lens fitted with a Wratten 88A filter. The CCD chips in digital cameras are sensitive to ultraviolet, visual, and infrared wavelengths. With the proper filtration (in this case the visually opaque 88A filter) a digital camera can selectively record any of these wavelengths, thus mimicking the effects of numerous specialty films. This panorama is composed of 8 images stitched together using the program PTGui with Panotools. The camera was set to ASA 200 and each image was exposed for 1 second at f/8. The final stitched panorama was converted into a Quick Time movie using the program CubicConverter.
