This is a time lapse movie of an onion seed germinating under cool conditions (60F) in soil that has been infested with the pathogenic fungus Botrytis allii. The hyaline spores of Botrytis allii can be seen forming at the junction of the cotyledon and seed coat at the end of the movie. This sequence covers 10 days of growth and images were taken every 30 minutes.
