The following list of farmer’s organizations/associations has been compiled primarily on the basis of the following"
  • Primary interest group being farmers.
  • Primary membership extended to farmers (individually or collectively represented).
  • Substantial national  presence.
  • Interest (directly or indirectly) in relevant agricultural research and documentary presentation on-line where available.

Accordingly these include cooperatives, foundations, commodity groups, marketing and trade associations and no delineation on the basis of structure or purpose has been made.

American Farm Bureau Federation The nation’s largest farm organization, non-governmental structure.
National Farmer’s Union
National Farmers Organization
Black Farmer’s and Agriculturalists Association

Their major goal is to develop a sustainable agricultural system that would provide at least one meal per day, according to the teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad for the 40 million black people in America.

National Farm Family Association Founded in 1986 to serve as a national link for grassroots organizations working on family farm issues.
Organic Farmer’s Marketing Association
American Agricultural Movement   AAM has provided a farmer-created, farmer-built organization within which farmers themselves have been the leaders, speakers and organizers. In becoming involved with government and politics, farmers have spoken for themselves.
National FFA Organization U.S. youth agriculture association administers young farmer and adult education programs; site includes contact info and convention schedules.

United Farm Workers Organization United Farm Workers and strawberry workers organization site. Addresses Campaign info, with fact sheets, press releases and articles. 
National Council of Farmer’s Cooperatives
North American Farmer’s Direct Marketing Association The North American Farmers' Direct Marketing Association is national organization of family farmers, extension agents and farm market managers to network with each other on the profitability of direct marketing
Community Alliance with Family Farmers Founded in 1978, the Community Alliance with Family Farmers is a nonprofit member-activist organization. CAFF political and educational campaigns are building a movement of rural and urban people who foster family-scale agriculture that cares for the land, sustains local economies, and promotes social justice. Members are urbanites, farmers, environmentalists, rural activists, students, and anyone concerned with the social and environmental dimensions of agriculture.
Farmland Industries, Inc. Farmland Industries, Inc. is the largest farmer-owned cooperative in North America.
International Federation of Agricultural Producers Founded in 1946, the International Federation of Agricultural Producers (IFAP/FIPA) is an international organization of the world's farmers. It is the only worldwide body grouping together nationally representative general farmers’ organizations. IFAP is financed and governed by its member organizations. It represents all of the agricultural producers in the industrialized world and hundreds of millions of farmers in developing countries.
